Very pretty nose (except for a bit of band aid). Puzzling wine that I could not place, but my mind never went to Syrah and never went to New World. Very nice structure and balance of fruit and earth. I liked this.

This was obviously Pacalet, with elegant florals over red cherries on the nose. It also answered the question: "Does Pacalet age?" No. This was not a stunner on release, but now it is a muddled mess. Drink between three and five years ago.

Very reticent nose that eventually reveals much more savoury and earthy notes than fruit. Very nice mouthfeel; some cherry. Long finish that ends with a good dose of minerality. Good now but with much better potential. Hold.

A Syrah that I really enjoy - must be Texier (or ESJ). Beautiful, rich palate. Excellent acidity and nice, grippy tannin. Mixed berries and flowers. Yum.

The nose is just eh, for some reason, but the palate is WOW. Very fresh, young lemon and sweet orange, peach and apricot, and a huge attack of zippy, citrus acid. Yum!!
