Ash, VA, lifted florals, orange peel, blackcurrant and graphite. Red fruited on the palate, it is still driven by that same fruit. Excellent balance and has plenty of time left on its side based on this bottle.

Stalk, herb and capsicum notes. Bold mouthfeel with plenty of fruit but also rather firm tannins. There is a little brett behind the fruit as well, I think for this bottle it adds to the wine rather than detracting.
Bottle #1 of #3 served blind. Screwcap. Fresh nose - graphite, violet, spice and earth. Palate retains that brightness and the fruit has good texture. Young but not brand new, it has development and I liked this a fair bit more than either cork sealed bottle.
Bottle #2 of 3. Cork sealed. Ash, rhubarb, a little more muddled than bottle 1. Palate is more rounded out and a bit more advanced, without having more complexity. In decent condition but for me not better than bottle 1.

Rhubarb, pepper, cherry and raisin. The alcohol element is more pronounced on this than the 2003, there is quite a bit of sweet fruit. Very young but I wasn't enamoured at all.

Cherry, spice, clove and redcurrant. Acidity is fairly high, but I like the refreshing nature of it. Could do with a little more age and I think the tannin structure should be up to it.
Coconut, spice, quince, brown sugar on the nose. Fairly clean and pure on the palate, I didn't pick it as Scheurebe because it didn't feel round enough. Not complex but a nice way to finish a tasting.
