Dark core with reddish violet rim; leather, nutty, spice, plum, cigar, rich warm fruit, funk, slight plastic, red fruit, dusty, something familiar in there; medicinal, dusty tannin, almost volcanic, rustic, cedar, crunchy red fruit, dried fruit, slight orange oil, good power; called Poggio Valente- which could have been the Alicante Bouschet; 45% Sangiovese, 35% Montepulciano, 15% Marselan, 5% Alicante Bouschet.
Midnight black core with thin garnet rim; black fruit, chocolate, spice, dense and brooding with a caressing side, cinnamon, minerality in the back, almost a prune/chewing tobacco quality to nose; large scaled on the palate, rich but soft and fat, some grainy tannin comes out towards the finish, leather, very ripe, chocolate covered fruit; modern and plushness so I called 2005 Faugeres- could have been the 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon blend.

Opaque core with thin light reddish violet rim; deep nose, leather, funky, green note, raspberry, dark fruit, cigar, aged, note of sea- seaweed; complex, slight spritzy quality on palate which I feel is Brett, leather, vegetal and fruit, manageable tannin, like its drinkability, Brett is tolerable for me, lots of herbal notes; my offering but tasting blind this reminds me of a Bordeaux varietal with a Rhone slant from Italy; ok.
Opaque core with bright purple rim; classic, black pepper, violets, black olives and its brine, a certain sharpness, smoky; lighter palate, good freshness, less brine, some tannin but not bad; nailed it.
Another bottle after the corked one earlier; dark core with dull reddish violet rim; sweet juicy fruit, young, some tire, vanilla, plum, blackberry, nuttiness in the background, spicy red fruit; dark fruit on the palate, a little disjointed, some fat, red apple skin, some spice, lower acid; not liking this as much as I did in the past.

2003 Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Forster Pechstein Riesling

Deeper golden green; classic Riesling nose, vanilla cream, key lime, tangerine, tennis ball; dry, lime, dried pineapple, ripe fruit, slight disjointed acid, hints at honey, lemon, mineral- slate finish, apricot, green apple peel; very nice, everybody drank and enjoyed it.
