Medium ruby. I agree with the prior taster who noted the prominent high char oak, but this bottle was not green in the least. Although I generally hate such exaggerated cooperage, this had enough ripe red fruit, spice, and mouth feel to keep it interesting. Surprisingly good, in fact.

Ruby. Bigger and sappier than the Eugenie Vosne. Just a dash of earth. All in all, one of the more approachable, user friendly young Gouges wines I've run across. Very good and actually beginning to drink well.

Light ruby. Others were not as put off by as I was, but I was overwhelmed by the pure menthol aromatics. Medium weight, not bad in terms of red/black fruit, but high acidity and distantly peppery. This is not the first time I've noted unbalanced green elements in 2011 Chevillons, and I have serious concerns about this and other bottlings.
Light yellow. Gorgeous pear and citrus with a bit of cinnamon as well. Not a huge wine but excellent concentration and silkiness. Wonderful fruit and fine acidity. A very fine bottle that lives up to the reputation of the domain. Enjoy now or hold for a few years for even more complexity.

Light yellow. Floral with perhaps a little more toasty oak than I find ideal in Chassagne. Medium weight, crisp citrus with good acidity for the vintage. Average length and finish.

Yellow. Citrus and background lactic tones. Medium weight. Honestly, it does not have a great deal more depth than the Premier Cru Chassagne. It does have more subtle complexity, though, a tad of creaminess, and a concordantly more harmonious feel. Good but hardly special-impossible to find justification for this being a $400+ bottle. Not even close to the level that this Grand Cru can achieve.
