2013 Ceritas Pinot Noir Elliott Vineyard

Tasting, brief note. All red cherry in a lean, elegant style. Today I found it to come across as slightly angular, but like the potential.

2012 Flowers Chardonnay Camp Meeting Ridge

Tasting, brief note. Green apple and lemon in a leaner style with good structure and energy. Moderate weight. Very fresh and refreshing, this should also age gracefully for 5+ years.

2011 Flowers Pinot Noir Sea View Ridge

Tasting, brief note. Red berry aromas and flavors woth good background spice. Slightly leaner than most with good structure and textures. Firm for now, give this another year or three.

2013 Freeman Pinot Noir Akiko's Cuvée

Tasting, brief note. Similar profile to the Sonoma Coast just tasted, again showing black berry and cherry, but with enhanced spice and concentration, providing more nuance and elegance. Good balance and good overall.

2012 Gros Ventre Pinot Noir First Born

Tasting, brief note. This is a fat, forward and fleshy wine showcasing lots of berries, with hints of baking spice and a faint trace of cherry cola. Good now, but with structure to cellar well for several years.

Tasting, brief note. Good cross-section of berry aromas and flavors with subtle spice and good, sneaky textures. Forward and enjoyable now. I'm not sure where this retails, but a very good Pinot if around $40.

2013 Gros Ventre Pinot Noir

Tasting, brief note. Red cheery and some berry in a lean style I tend to like, but here it comes across as slightly one dimensional. An interesting contrast to the Sonoma Coast just tasted. I am sure this wine expresses it site well, but I don't necessarily find that expression making for a better overall wine.

2012 MacPhail Pinot Noir Mardikian Vineyard

Tasting, brief note. Red and black cherry with subtle spice that I found more nuanced vs the Platt just tasted. Good density, structure and overall balance. Nicely elegant for the 14.5% shown on the label.

Tasting, brief note. Lots of ripe fruit with a hint of cherry cola. I like the good concentration, but find some warmth coming through that I didn't like as much. Good in its style.

2012 Soliste Cellars Pinot Noir Les Griottes

Tasting, brief note. Good cross-section of cherry on both nose and palate with good background spice. Comes across at first as lush, but textures really come through from middle to finish. Soft and elegant, but I'd certainly consider this cellarworthy. Very good.
