Very fine boned fruit and texture with the black fruit giving up a compact, cool feel - needs time in a decanter to open up the palate, but even then this is reserved. I like it - very nuanced, very Corton-like at time. This is a lot of wine for the money. Beaujolais disguised as extremely good Burgundy. The secondary characteristics are peeking out but this needs more time.
I like it? I love it. Much more open than the 2006 Clos de Rochegrès from the same producer - deep black fruit with a compact cool fruit feel with very sweet tannins - very fine, confident with a feral under current. These Chateau des Jacques do somewhat challenge what is accepted as Beaujolais - in and of itself this is great wine. I'm drinking this as a £20 replacement for awesome Burgundy. Great stuff - still young, let it rest. Or drink the ass of it and buy more - you wont find this price/quality up the road in Cotes de Nuits.
Signature black fruit and fine tannins - impressive depth for a stupid stupid low price - again, I would struggle to name Gamay as the grape - this is more pinot noir from Marsannay. £13 of utter "i am pretending this is £50 burgundy" pleasure.

I like it? I love it.
