Cream hint of caramel smoke line lemon and toast with cured apricots m. Pleasant structure and distinct finish. Modern burgs are becoming so approachable and consistent at young age and reflective of terroir. Stone, hint of charcoal and spiced turmeric enters as secondary flavours. Very nice for a village wine.
A very succulent rose that hits the sweet spot of balance between ethereal whiff and stick over sweet pink juice. Very nice rose petal sweet plum sandalwood notes and a long finish to satisfy. Would hunt for it.

Fully mature and in a great spot this had a subtle elegant nose of blackcurrant and cherries and a lovely palate of fruit leather smoke chocolate and licorice. Amazing finish with secondary development of spices and pepper tickling away. The tannins present but in a good way as with all old CdP. Lovely
4[EDIT: Seems like less now given the newer tasting experience] hour decant what first came out was heavy on alcohol vapor and sawdust and cardboard. In the first 40 mins it came to some semblance of the signature candied grapes, super fine spice and smooth leather chocolate concoction M+E produce. Then sat in decanter till poured through mains for dinner. Unusually it had port like characteristics at this stage, slightly heavy and viscous but still giving off plenty of fruit power and balance. Secondary heat was perfect to expand flavours in the mouth and taper to a long nice finish. I suspect had it sat for another hour it would be more on form. Do try to do that. Else I think it's consistent with pro reviews of 93-96, a great wine but less a superstar compared to Ode to E, Mightnight Oil, Atlantis etc.

Stunning wine that has it all at the moment with flavour power balance and finish. Loads of berries cherries floral notes buttressed by charcoal and leather. Super fine almost undetected tannins add structure to the smorgasbord. Long long and seductive finish showing a young yet approachable cult item. Gorgeous. WOTN.
