Every participant had to bring a wine of the theme. We did not know which wines were brought by the others. All wines were tasted blind, also without knowing when the wine you brought was poured.
Served completely blind only knowing it was Burgundy. Dark orange brown color. Tertiary and very mature, but still pleasurable and interesting bouquet with autumn impressions, mushrooms, rust, leather, some sweetness and some barnyard. On the palate chocolate, coffee, tea, celery and rust. Ok acidity and some bitterness. There was also something which was not completely fresh. The wine developed quite quickly in the glass. Very interesting experience! No score.

Light orange brown color. Not so very expressive bouquet; only some tea. On the palate autumn impressions and some earth. Still some red fruits in the distance, some spiciness, tart acidity and tannin. Meager/lean wine which lacks stuffing. Should have been drunk several years ago. No score.

Fairly complex bouquet with autumn impressions, earth. licorice, espresso, tobacco, minerals like iron and a touch of barnyard. On the palate the same, some harsh cherries as well, dark berry fruits, some smoke, firm but good acidity and tannin with still a pleasant bite. A touch of pleasant sweetness as well. Nice wine, completely ready, but no extreme hurry. Drink it between now and 2016.

The bouquet shows red fruits which are still quite youthful. On the palate red berry fruits as well, a firm amount of acidity and some green impressions. A bit thin. Disappointing for the vintage.

Garnet red. In the bouquet some autumn, earth and rustic flavors. On the palate ripe dark berry fruits, some chocolate, coffee, sweet spices and leather. Good balance between acidity and sweetness and soft tannin. Nice wine.

Still a red hue. In the bouquet minerals like flint stone, tar and some barnyard. On the palate ripe red and dark forest fruits, some chocolate and licorice. Good balance between mild acidity and sweetness. Soft and round tannin. Well balanced and a good length. The hot vintage shows, but this is really a nice wine.

In the bouquet sweet strawberries, raspberries and raisins. Very ripe fruits. On the palate the same. Rose hips, some sweetness and also some fresh acidity. A bit like luxurious lemonade.

Beautiful bouquet with dark and red berry fruits, coffee, chocolate, some oak and bell pepper. On the palate juicy and ripe red and black berry fruits, cherries, pleasant acidity and tannin with still a pleasant bite. Nice Burgundy. Ready now and the next 3+ years.

Beautiful bouquet with ripe red berry fruits. On the palate the same ripe fruits, minerals, some chocolate, good acidity, sweet spices and soft tannin which is also still a bit edgy. A touch of sweetness. In this stage the wine does not really impress, but with a few more years of ageing it might show better. Around 2020? For tonight just 88. (Or did we have an off bottle?)

The bouquet is not really expressive, but shows some red berry fruits, spiciness and oaky flavors. Same on the palate, some sweet spices, minerals, chocolate, rustic flavors, good acidity and sticky tannin. Give this wine some 4 – 6 years of ageing, so it can show its potential. 89+ for tonight.

Not so many notes. Clear garnet red. Juicy red berry fruits, a firm amount of acidity and soft tannin with some bitterness. The wine was not completely fresh, so I don't score it.

In the bouquet autumn impressions, leather, minerals and a touch of barnyard. On the palate a slightly sweet start, followed by juicy red fruits like strawberries, some smoke, pleasant acidity and soft tannin. The minerals show in the finish. Overall a really nice wine.

The bouquet is rustic with red berry fruits, some rose hips and autumn impressions. On the palate juicy red berry fruits, spiciness, minerals, vanilla, caramel, ok acidity and good tannin. Harmonious wine although another taster thought the oak was too dominating.

For many this was the WOTN, for some too oaky. In the bouquet minerals, some autumn impressions, but above all a lot of smoky and toasted oak. Same on the palate. Ripe dark fruits with a firm amount of sweetness, smoke, laurel, minerals, beautiful acidity, and mild tannin. Although the oak dominates a bit in this stage, the fruits can handle it and when it integrates a bit more, this will be a great wine. If you like the oaky flavors this wine gives you that luxurious feeling. For now 92+, but around 2020 this can easily be a 94+ wine.

2010 Parigot & Richard Crémant de Bourgogne Cuvée Prestige 89 Points

At first, served a bit too cold, only apples in the bouquet. Later also citrus and minerals appeared. Same on the palate. Nicely dry and a touch of bitterness in the finish. Decent wine.
