  • 2012 Sula Vineyards Zinfandel 81 Points

    India, Nashik

Dark cherries, some spiciness and also some minerals in the bouquet. On the palate dark cherries, a bit lactic, flint stone, firm acidity and some tannin. Interesting wine, but not on my to buy list.

  • 2011 Sula Vineyards Cabernet-Shiraz 85 Points

    India, Nashik

This wine got 6 months of American oak. In the bouquet ripe dark fruits, salty licorice and sweet spices; vanilla. On the palate dark cherries and some dark forest fruits, dark chocolate. A mouth full. Some heat in the finish, but overall a surprisingly nice wine.

  • 2011 Monsoon Valley (Siam Winery) Shiraz 82 Points

    Thailand, Hua Hin Hills

In the bouquet a bit dusty, some cherries and bell peppers. On the palate a mild start, juicy red fruits, some red bell peppers, vanilla and spiciness. Ok acidity and tannin which hardly offer any bite. An ok wine, special because it comes from Thailand, but not really interesting as a wine.

  • 2011 Sula Vineyards Shiraz Dindori Reserve 84 Points

    India, Nashik

This wine got 12 months of oak. Dark red and high viscosity. Beautiful bouquet with red berry fruits and cherries. Pleasant oak. On the palate a concentrated wine with dark as well as red fruits and some spiciness. There is a lot of oak which is not integrated and I wonder if it ever will. My score for today is 84 and in case the oak becomes less dominant there is potential for 1 or 2 points extra.

  • 2011 Sula Vineyards Shiraz Rasa 88 Points

    India, Nashik

This is by far the best wine I tasted from the Sula wineries. In the bouquet red as well as dark forest fruits and a firm dose of good and toasted oak. On the palate dark fruits, a lot of herbs and spices e.g. clove and vanilla. Also some medicine, but not negative. Overall the most complex and harmonious wine of the set. Nice now and the next few years.
