We knew the theme, but all wines were tasted blind.
Expressive bouquet with white fruits, melon, flowers and some butter. On the palate the same, a bit fat, some minerals, round and mild acidity and a pleasant touch of bitterness at the end. Tasty wine.

This wine is made of 80% Marsanne an 20% Roussanne. Yellow fruits, melon and blossom in the bouquet. Same on the palate. Some (butter)candy flavors, mint and minerals. Good acidity and some sweetness. Slight touch of bitterness in the good finish.

In the bouquet ripe cherries as well as dark forest fruits and something pleasantly stinky. On the palate juicy dark berry fruits, minerals, spices, some oak, a touch of sweetness, slightly sticky tannin and firm bitterness. The wine will improve with some ageing. Around 2017…?

Not so very expressive, but there are some rose hips, red fruit and mature impressions. Same on the palate. Some minerals and sweetness, firm acidity and very soft tannin. Quite thin. Quite old and still ok, but nothing special. No score.

The bouquet has ripe dark berry fruits, minerals and blood and some sweet impressions. On the palate concentrated and ripe dark berry fruits, blood, rustic, some sweetness but also good acidity and round tannin. Modern made and really beautiful. Already pleasant drinking and there is a future of several years (2020).

In the bouquet some brioche, minerals and a touch of citrus. Same on the palate. A bit reductive. Good citrus and a slight touch of sweetness. Elegant wine and for an Alsace bubble a nice surprise.

2004 Mailly Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé 89 Points

The bouquet is still locked, but there is some sweet apple. On the palate ripe apple, melon and tart citrus. A bit reductive. Nuts and a touch of bitterness. Ok wine, but overall at this moment a little disappointing. Maybe wait one or two years?
