Li Garden, IFC Hong Kong

A party thrown by Liu Jian Guo at Li Garden in IFC Hong Kong. We began with Moet Champagne and Mouton vertical of 1975, 1985, 1995 and 2005.
The 1975 Mouton is definitely past prime--murky, weak and acidic. I liked the 1985 the best since it is at full maturity. The 1995 is profound and complex but need to open 3 hours prior. The 2005 is interesting as it has a trace of sweetness, too young to enjoy.
1975 Château Mouton Rothschild 89 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
Very murky and rusty in color, definitely passed peak, tasted weak and cherry.

Ready to drink and very approachable. Low acidity and silky smooth, with loads of fruits.

1995 Château Mouton Rothschild 97 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
Profound and complex--layered of flavours. Need time to properly aerate, we did not allow proper time--only an hour or so. Tasted closed at first but could feel the promise. After 2 hours, beginning to open and flourish. Advice is to open the bottle 3 hours ahead.

2005 Château Mouton Rothschild 97 Points
France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
Powerful yet elegant, can taste a slight sweetness. Too young to drink now, need to wait a few more years.
