Started off the evening with this clean and fresh white.
I have really enjoyed the last 2 vintages of this wine. I think it is underrated and I am happy with the QPR it offers. Faint apple and peaches with a nice clean mineral finish

    Citrus and wet stone aromas.
But this wine hit its stride once it hits your palate.
Texture is impressively creamy and viscous.
Incredibly rich and exotic -- each sip garnered new descriptors from the group.
Roasted Nuts, limoncello syrup and tropical fruits lead into at minearally, tangerine finish.
    This is an impressive wine!
    Wonderful pairing with the
Veal Sweetbreads, Grilled Octopus, Risotto that were being shared on the table.

  • 1998 Braida (Giacomo Bologna) Barbera d'Asti Bricco dell'Uccellone 92 Points

    Italy, Piedmont, Asti, Barbera d'Asti

This was opened in bottle for an hour + before consumption -- but it needed more air or bottle age.
Intense, full throttle and a little confrontational right now.
But I really like what is going on in this bottle.
Dense, full bodied and Classic Italian
Nice pairing with the RibEye and Pork Jowl, but a little overpowering for the Rabbit.
With a few more years &/or airtime, I think this wine will work into the mid 90's for me.

  • 2002 Inniskillin Riesling Icewine Niagara Peninsula VQA 92 Points

Canada, Ontario, Niagara Peninsula, Niagara Peninsula VQA

I opted to sip on this sticky rather than partake in the numerous desserts that hit the table.
Huge Nose of Pure Honey with apricot and faint peaches.
Crazy rich and sweet, but with enough acid to keep it rolling through a long decadent finish.
