Elegant alluring superb aromatics good balance and acid. Palate was dense and complex. Was expecting some more from this plot but this is slightly under whelming. Nevertheless a great champagne.
What are the chances of 2 same bottles this old! Unfortunately my bottle tasted tired and old. The 2nd bottle was fresh and still sweetness of red fruits left. Beautiful stage with some tannins. Given both are from the same store and probably similar time, the only reason for the difference was bottle variation amplify over time.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Musigny Grand Cru
Sweet cherry with good freshness. Palate still dense and probably need many more years. A treat now but will definitely improve with many years of age.
Slight oak i feel but very good density and expressive nose. Light on the palate with good weight. Was kind of surprise this was a Gaunoux perhaps due to the riper vintage.
France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Saumur-Champigny
Paired side by side with the 2009 this showed some aged with dust and capsicum. This year i have had several Rougeard and the quality proves why this is a sought after wine and maker.
Decanted for about an hour. Slightly green notes on the nose and palate. Finish shows ripeness. Not the best showing of Gaja i have had but still very good.
surprising open with great structure. This is one of the times when i had Giacosa and it was open for business. Probably as it was open since the morning and double decanted.

Coming after the Chetillons, this suffered. Steely mineral notes with nose slight close. Hopefully have a chance to try this on its own next time.
