Introduction
Everybody had to bring two wines to taste fully blind by the other participants. The order of the flight is just a wild guess because we don’t know which wines the other participants brought. We try to start with light and simple and older, to more full bodied, more complex and younger. Someone starts and then the others follow when they think it is the right moment. And -to be honest- in most cases it works nicely.
NV Ca' Rugate Garganega Fulvio Beo 88 Points
Italy, Veneto, Veneto IGT
In the bouquet some brioche, nuts, anise and almonds. On the palate green apples, citrus like grapefruit, minerals and nicely dry with medium acidity. Really pleasant bubble.

In the bouquet rust, earth and leather and leftovers of ref berry fruits. On the palate quite mature with earth, mushrooms, forest floor, ok acidity and drying. Past its peak and very mature, but still drinkable. No score.

The bouquet is a bit locked, some indefinable sweetness. On the palate quite special, with yoghurt, marzipan and some reductive/oxidized impressions. Very special; no score.

Somewhat reductive bouquet with oak, minerals, broth, earth and some rustic impressions. On the palate a complex wine with all sorts of impressions; oak, citrus, minerals, toast, some sweetness but also nicely dry, honey, nuts, butter candy and firm and focused citrus acidity. Good length. Special wine.

In the bouquet cherries, dark berries, oak and coconut. On the palate dark berries, chocolate, firm and ok acidity and slightly sticky tannin. Some bell pepper and unripe impressions. Will never be great, but no problem to cellar this for some more years.

Beautiful bouquet with dark berries, cherries, beautiful oak and depth. On the palate a tempting wine with dark forest fruits, chocolate, bell pepper, eucalyptus and sweet spiciness. Beautiful wine in its young maturity stage.

Beautiful bouquet with some development, earth, rustic flavors and at first some celery which disappears with some more air time. On the palate red fruit acidity, earth and autumn impressions, coffee, chocolate, drying tannin and some bitterness. Overall a complex wine which I hope to taste again with some more age on it to see how it develops. For tonight 91.

Beautiful bouquet with red and dark berry fruits as well as some bell pepper. On the palate a bit earthy and mature with good tight and focused acidity and slightly drying tannin. Ready now, no hurry. Very good wine, but I am not extremely impressed.

This wine has a wonderful and perfumed bouquet with beautiful oak and dark forest fruits. On the palate dark berries, some chocolate, cedar and luxurious oak. Beautiful acidity and tannin. Mature now, but it can easily last another 5+ years. A great pleasure!
