Beautifully perfumed. The flavors presented an interesting juxtaposition of sweetness and minerality along with a smokiness I enjoyed, quite expansive in the mouth and with a very persistent finish.
So tight and primary it was hard to get a read on this, but I could eek out some of the glories that lie ahead: red fruit (to a surprising degree, leather and spice. Should round out well with time.
An unmistakably barnyard nose, not all mirrored on the palate, where this was expansive, silky, ripe and haunting. Sweet berries, tobacco, mint and a little bit of smoke.
My first encounter with this wine, which I found both unusual and lovely. Sweetly perfumed bouquet. Sweet strawberry flavors dominated, along with a notable salinity. It all worked very well together.
This wine just didn't resonate with me. Sharp red fruit due to high acidity, along with mint notes and and (I swear) some evident heat and oak notes that distracted from the fruit.
Hard to score as this was stubborn and unyieldingly tight during the tasting, with teethstaining tannins and too little fruit to rate fairly at this stage, at least not without 24 hour+ aeration.
Quite dark. An expansive mouthfeel despite the massive tannins. Dense and weighty, with tight flavors of bright fruit and some florality. Great persistence. Would love to revisit in a 6-8 years, and for decades thereafter.
Not my favorite style (despite the evident quality), this was too light-bodied and sweet for my palate, feminine if you will, with lively acidity balancing the sweet red fruit. Long finish.

Very tight and primary (no surprise here), with notes of tar and light fruit. Surprisingly light-bodied. Room for improvement with a few years.

A round and fleshy version, more finesse than power, with silky tannins. Not the best typicity, but pretty enjoyable.

A compelling rendition displaying typical tar & roses flavors in an appealing fashion, though I thought the wine was a touch thin.

A bit diluted and acidic to me, more cranberry than raspberry.

Concentrated, sweet and balanced, with loads of plum and fennel, striking all the right notes for me.

A tannic powerhouse that blossomed with air even at this young age and displayed savory fruit flavors I very much liked.

A shy nose of red fruit and saline aspects. Impressive purity of clean, powerful tar and red fruit flavors. Tremendously long finish. So well done!
