USA, California, Central Valley, Sacramento Valley
Tasting, brief note. A "kitchen sink" blend (Albarino / Chardonnay / Gruner Veltliner / Pinot Grigio / Verdelho / Riesling) but very balanced and nicely rich. A very tasty, good value wine.
Tasting, brief note. 60% Viognier. Peach and tropical fruit. Good balance with restraint from start to middle, slightly warmer and less balanced finish. Still overall good for near-term enjoyment. Made by Pax Mahle.
Tasting, brief note. Rich and ripe black and red cherry aromas and flavors to start. Borderline balance that I certainly enjoy, along with its good spice. Slightly hollow in the middle, but the fruit returns for a good finish. Probably better in another year or two. Good+ in its style.
USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
Tasting, brief note. Red and black cherry with some cherry cola, anise and allspice. Very good concentration and also good+ balance. Baking spice throughout, perhaps a hint too sweet on finish. I enjoyed this more today vs when last tasted two years ago.
Tasting, brief note. Good weight and balance with classic charming Gamay character, while with some modern styling providing positive supporting character. Very good value wine.
