Tasting, brief note. A complex array of ripe aromas and flavors, showcasing lemon curd, poached pear, quince and lots of spice. Very unctuous with lots of glycerol, this is showing charming youthful exuberance alongside great power and length. Very tasty today with great cellaring potential. Certainly 92-95 point potential.
Tasting, brief note. Ripe black berries dominate with late summer flowers, anise and braised meat notes, but all very juicy and superbly bright. Wonderful already, this is the most pleasurable of today's three vintages, even though I expect 2012 will become the best wine in a decade+. 93-95 point potential.
Tasting, brief note. Black cherry with lots of earth, lots of concentration. Long, but very firm at present. Based on prior experience from this producer, I expect this needs until at least 2025 to really shine. 92-93 point potential.
Tasting, brief note. Huge black cherry and berry aromas and flavors with sweet spice and roasted meat. Very concentrated, structured and long, perhaps starting to get a little brooding on its finish. This shows what I liked best from the 2013 and 2014 vintages just tasted, with 95-96 point potential a decade+ from now.
Tastig, brief note. This 2nd bottle for the tasting was just opened and was very reduced, so very tough to assess/ appreciate, but clearly showing lots of concetrated black fruit.
Tasting, brief note. My favorite of the 4 vintages tasted tonight. Juicy and fresh blackberry and boysenberry on nose and palate to start, then finishing with power and plenty of structure. Very good now with upside from here.
Tasting, brief note. This was also the just-opened 2nd bottle for this tasting, and came across across very reductive. Firm black cherry and plum on nose and palate with earth and a slightly rugged finish. Very good length, but seems to be entering a brooding phase. 89-90 point potential.
Tasting, brief note. Ripe black plum and berries with herbs de provence. Slightly jammy right now with a rich finish. Another good value wine that really showcasing 2015's ripeness.
