Dark and bright yellow. A little (good) petrol, oak and complex bouquet. The first association is bananas, then a little peach and minerals. Soft acidity. (Too) old, but surprising. I like this wine.
In the bouquet fennel, green impressions and candy flavors. On the palate grapefruit, apple, salty minerals, oak and pleasant bitterness. Good complexity and freshness.
A little sparkling in the bouquet. Also flowers and candy. Refined good acidity, very refreshing, little citrus, apple, minerals and candy acidity. Very refreshing wine.
In the bouquet fresh cherries like in Beaujolais. On the palate juicy cherries, red berries, green herbs, licorice and fresh acidity. Sort finish. Clean wine which lacks some complexity.
In the bouquet extremely ripe fruits. On the palate ripe red and black berries, thyme and rosemary, a beautiful touch of oak. Overall a beautiful wine with a good concentration and some complexity. Long finish.
Dark blood red. Concentrated bouquet with black berries, smoke and tobacco. On the palate black and red berries, herbs, chocolate, beautiful acidity and soft, sticky tannin. A mouth full of beautiful wine. A wine to chew on. 91 - 92+
No formal notes. Very rich and expressive bouquet with also a touch of barnyard. On the palate full bodied and fat, minerals, soft acidity and some citrus. Long finish.
France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Corbières
This wine is made of 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah. In the bouquet ripe fruits and a bite perfumed. On the palate a very juicy wine with friendly acidity and a touch of sweetness. Easy drinker.
France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
When you put your nose in the glass, you can smell the class of this wine; luxurious oak, woodland soil, mushrooms, cigar box and a hint of sweetness. The taste is a little disappointing; completely soft and ripe. Hardly any tannin left. There is a little ripe red fruit. Long aftertaste however. This is an enormously elegant wine which is a few years too old, but if you like your wines in the beginning of the tertiary stage this wine is a must.
I did not finish this TN (blind) completely because I was too busy enjoying. It has a beautiful and complex bouquet with liquorice and laurel. Full bodied, soft and a little sweetness. Ripe strawberries…….(this is where my TN ends) In my memory I also recall a long aftertaste and the fact that this wine is in a perfect drinking stage now.
Carmine with an orange glow. Spicy and dried plums in the bouquet. In the taste leather, laurel, firm acidity and sticky tannin. Although the tannin is a little drying in the fairly long aftertaste, the wine is imho not too old yet.
Dark Purple. In the bouquet eucalyptus, sweet liquorice and cherries. In the taste: New world syrah with old world acidity. Cocoa, plums, sweet cherries, spices esp. clove. Firm tannin in an enormous concentration. This wine seems to be great. Much too young now. I am really curious how this will develop. 92 points for the time being, but I would not be surprised when in due time this will be 94+
Dark purple. The bouquet is really complex with carrigue, ink and in fact it is still locked. Same on the palate, good cassis, and complexity. Good acidity, tannin and bitterness. This wine is a great promise. For today 92++
France, Southwest France, Gascony, Côtes de Gascogne
Sweet bouquet with cherries and leather. Same on the palate. Juicy wine with good herbs and spices as well as pleasant bitterness. Not much refinement, but certainly full bodied.
