France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
93/100
A good young Meursault from Domaine Montille’s negotiant label. One of Vinoterra‘s best and most reasonably priced Beaune domaines, immortalized in Mondovino.
Butter and bread, great depth that provides a clean backbone to the palate, vertical, thin, elegant - and with bright future ahead. Quite and quite enjoyable.

Sharp, with burnt matches, maybe a notch too mellow, this 2008 Philippe Pacalet looks a bit tired, mature, like a former Olympic runner gaining some weight - yet, despite the fact that he now suffers from heartburn and pants like hell, he’s still able to manage 10 to 20km easily.
Juicy - but I guess it has seen better days.

What an outstanding Volnay! One of the first vintages made by Etienne de Montille, after retirement of the revered Haubert de Montille but under his strict supervision.
Juicy red berries, strawberry, hawthorn, clean, straight, plain and forceful palate that opens up in a myriad of colors and truly signs.
I love it. What a bomb!

A rare bottle of Fredric Cossard’s Vosne-Romanée 2008, all kudos to Alexey Kozhakin, that I brought to AC party.
Slightly fizzy upfront, it then comes forward with fir, bark, cola, sugar powder, and thin herbs. Neat, almost ideal balance. Decant is a must.
Despite it being a super trendy VR, as it breathes, it gains somewhat more classical feeling and at the same time loses a bit of its amazing zip, gets more formal and restrained.
Great wine.

A magnum of Cos 1989 is at the absolute top of its prime.
Bold and vibrant, with blackberries, cassis, juniper jam, pepper, pencil shavings, tobacco, a tiny pinch of noble bitterness, awesome depth, and outstanding well integrated tannin that stays in the aftertaste after 15 minutes.
A Porthos of Bordeaux who denounced its baron de Vallon de Bracieux de Pierrefonds title tonight.
WS 93, RP 88 - bollocks, I have no other words.

Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
88/100
A rather simple unpretentious Brunello that has seen better days. Alive, sure, but someone behind peak, with jammy black berry sweetness similar to a port.
Not a bad companion to a Puro Habano though.
