Lots of cherry aromas and flavors with a very meaty character. Very good length and weight, slightly firm middle and finish. Needs time.

Tasting at the winery. Wonderful aromas show spice, pure red fruit and earth hints. Similar flavors, but less forthcoming and more backward. Rich finish hints at good potential. Needs time.

Rich, ripe red and black cherry with some sweet spice and a hint of new oak that will benefit from more cellar time. Very good weight to start, with good length that falls off slightly at the finish. This will improve with age, better 2022-.

Tasting at the winery. Lots of black cherry throughout with charming nose showing a trace of sausage. Similar flavors, just less forward today, with meaty spice in the middle and a slightly backward finish. I suspect a few years in the cellar have been kind to this wine, and a few more years will help further.

Tasting at the winery. Fleshy apple and pear with ginger, butter and honeycomb. Surprised to hear this is only 50% composed of wine that finished ML, given its richness. Best to drink young.

Tasting at the winery. 2016 disgorgement. Very impressive. Mostly Chardonnay, seems so Chardonnay in its precision and backbone. Very good breadth, length and mousse. Slightly earthy and bready, but not in a way that dominates the flavors. Very good now.

Tasting at the winery. Starts out slightly fat and rich with some cola notes, then finishes more reserved and beckoning with good acidity and textural elegance. Probably better in another year or three.

Tasting at the winery. Black cherry start-to-finish with great spice and an alluring nose, slightly less overt flavors. A well done use of whole cluster. Better to cellar a little more.

Tasting at the winery. Red fruit throughout. This starts out fun and forward, but sneaky structure emerges, making this engaging and interesting g by the finish. Very good potential. Better/ more complete than the 2015 tasted a week+ ago.

Tasting at the winery. Cross section of red and black cherry comes across more ripe and concentrated vs Ceras, less delicate or textured. Very good length, slightly firm finish for now.

Tasting at the winery. Lots of cherry with even more baking spice. Intriguing and unfolding, this seems to tell you it’s forward and simply fun, but layers in the background hint at more complex enjoyment as this ages.

Tasting at the winery. Boysenberry and blackberry jam with sweet spice and liqueur and lots of tannins, albeit in the elegant side. Needs time. Upside as the sweetness lessens.

Tasting at the winery. 13/14 blend. Black and meaty fruit with some olive tapenade. Long, brooding start, then brighter and uplifting finish. Very mountain fruit with the lifting acidity. 91-92+ point potential.

Tasting at the winery. Tough to fully get past the ripeness, but clearly enough concentration and structure to hold everything together. Plenty of black and red cherry throughout. Good length.

Tasting at the winery. Very ripe red cherry with good structure throughout, but not quite the depth of Co rages that give more complexity. Enjoy young.

Tasting at the winery. Lean and so elegant in a manner rarely seen in US Chardonnay, in fact below 13% alcohol. Lot so apple and pear throughout with engaging acidity, finishing with some ripe lemon and candied lemon peel. Could pass for a good Puligny.

Tasting at the winery. More interesting and nuanced flavors vs X-Novo just tasted, but without the same concentration. Good potential for a young vineyard.

Tasting at the winery. Good weight and concentration with fleshy forward fruit to start, then structure coming through middle to end. Lots of good components here - better than the two 2015s just tasted - but not yet fully integrated. Interesting and good+ potential.

Tasting at the winery. Surprisingly light color for BF. Intensely ripe with both sweet and savory spice. Seems simple to start, but there is an intriguing and lingering finish. Cellar at least a couple of years, best 2020-2026. 91+ point potential.

Tasting at the winery. To me, a clear step up from Danielle Laurent, but still too ripe and barely balance. Good concentration, but that isn’t quite enough here.

Tasting at the winery. Black fruit with fine balance and more of the classic, older world style I expected from this producer. Black currant and cherry with good balance and energy throughout. Also best to enjoy young.
