Introduction

During the Matter of Taste event in Singapore, Eron Brooks, the new reviewer of Oregon, introduced the wines of Oregon during two Master Classes. One focused on the Willamette Valley, the other one mixed Oregon wines with Burgundies to compare them side by side.

I found the Oregon Pinots very well balanced, structurally more like Nuits St.Georges wines than California Pinot. Aromatically I did not see much excitement or even greatness. May be because they were too young, or closed, who knows. Overall I found the Chardonnays more interesting than the Pinots.
