  Glue and blood and lots of spices. Juicy light plum flavors and nicely developed. Solid acidity and a touch of brown sugar. Very nice wine.

  Sweet cherry fruit but overall the alcohol is dominating to much leaving an incoherent impression. Perhaps an off bottle but there were no excitement here.

  Dense young fruit with a huge acidity. Lots of dark plum with some chocolate and lots of tannins. Huge structure and it will last for a very long time.
  Amazing wine and Fonseca always delivers in this vintage.

  Huge acidity and a delicate plum fruit. Seems to be dominated by alcohol. Overall, the wine seems a bit closed down and could have used more air to open up.
  Have tasted better version of this wine before.

• 1985 Niepoort Porto Vintage Flawed

  Unfortunately, Niepoort 1985 is usually defective. As someone said, if you have a 1985 vertical with a defective wine, it is most likely Niepoort.

  Sweet dark plum fruit but still fresh and light on the palate. Huge depth, huge acidity, huge balance.
  Clearly WOTN for me and everyone else. A monster of a wine and still very young.
