A good dollop of oak leads the way, fading to apple, citrus and stone. Pear, stone, vanilla and oak spice on the palate. Plenty of wood here, but there's enough fruit to support it. Excellent in this style, but give it a couple of years to tame the wood. Drink 2020+. 91-92 pts.

2014 Robert Sinskey Vineyards Pinot Noir Los Carneros 92 Points

Loads of bright cherry and warm spice in the bouquet and on the palate. Clove and other spices- some nutmeg and perhaps also cinnamon. Has a subtle floral element that I like. Very pretty, with a nice vein of acidity. Would pair beautifully with roasted poultry or pork. 92+ pts.

2016 Ridge Zinfandel East Bench 93 Points

I am almost always a fan of the East Bench and this vintage is another good one. Raspberry and cherry with hints of spice and pepper culminating in a long finish. Excellent.

2015 Adaptation Cabernet Sauvignon 92 Points

A label I had not heard of before tonight. Notes of dark berry, somewhat tight, but there's a floral note- violet perhaps- along with cassis and dark chocolate. Tannins are rather firm. Cassis and black raspberry fruit with a nice finish. Could use a couple of years in the cellar I think, or a healthy decant, but I like what's here.

Notes of grapey raspberry and dark fruit. Vanilla, blackberry jam and oak spice on the palate. Pretty straightforward, though good at the price point.
