FMIII does several things throughout the year to help support Laura's House, an organization that provides emergency shelter to women and children fleeing domestic violence situations. www.laurashouse.org
One of which is donating $10 for every tasting note on a Pinot Noir that is posted on WB with a picture this week. For a good cause, here are three from last night.
2017 Gérard Boulay Sancerre Rosé
France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Sancerre
Crisp and refreshing rose. There is a little rain on hot pavement aroma along with light melon and an orange or citrus note. Solid acidity. I like it.

2014 Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Bourgogne Cuvée Saint-Vincent
France, Burgundy, Bourgogne
This followed a Foillard Cote du Py and initially it suffered for that. Subdued nose at first that, with air, took on spice and earthy notes. On the palate this is fairly light bodied with dark cherry and again some light spice and earthly notes. This is a nice Bourgogne.

2011 Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley
Similar to my note from 4 years ago. The vintage shows in this is on the lighter side for CA pinot, but that is one of the things I like about it. There is a slight root beer or sassafras note. Moderate acidity. Ann thought it was too big and a little sweet. I liked it more than her, but this style of wine is something I only want to drink every once in a while.
