Kevin and Vicki's house
Tasted Friday, December 21, 2018 by galewskj with 201 views
This was Kevin's mostly semi-annual tasting where we get a chance to drink some Big Bordeaux's that would otherwise be too expensive to drink. Wine of the night was the 1986 Chateau Margaux which was stunning. The 1989 Chateau Palmer was also great.
2005 Château Carbonnieux Blanc 90 Points
France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
This was a very enjoyable white Bordeaux. It is somewhat oxidized with lemon oil and wax.

2006 Louis Roederer Champagne Blanc de Blancs 90 Points
France, Champagne
Green and unripe apple. This seemed quite dry. Good complexity made this wine interesting and not that satisfying. 89-90

2010 Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 94 Points
France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
Lithe and lively. There is so much minerality and sea spray here, with rich oak. It is dry and there is not much fruit. 93-94

2007 Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne 91 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
The nose is steely. The palate is quite acidic. Oak is lean. This is well integrated and the nose is expressive.
