Earth, cherry, toast and some oxidative notes. Refreshing palate with good acid cut, very good carry and length. Not complex but definitely ready to drink. No fireworks tonight.
D/G 12/11/17. Pepper, light stems, roses, lemon peel, graphite and raspberry - a little confronting but very interesting. Lightly grippy on the palate, intensely savoury with plenty of acidity and flavour. Unique Champagne and works well with food.
From half bottle. Lemon, butter, wax with floral lift. Rounding out on the palate, still fresh with good acidity. In a good spot now from 375ml but could well go longer as well.
Tight nose initially but opening with air to show lime, toast, peach and pear. Well balanced on the palate - with rich fruit while remaining bright with good acidity. Carries very well, this is very likeable already.
Golden tinged. Keep, toasty vanilla, yellow florals, wax and spice. Acid tingles on the palate, showing more youthful than the nose, though it is certainly starting to round at the edges. 5 to 6 years should see it near its peak.
Bright light gold colour. Herbal, peach, orange peel and musk. Palate is lightly sweet with some fruit richness still showing well. Drives nicely into a medium length finish.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Light cherry, raspberry, spice and graphite. Sweet red fruit on the palate, good spice to give it interest and acidity to give it brightness. Lovely finesse.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Cherry, redcurrant, bright cherry, spice and blueberry. Really bright fruit on the palate, while still having a sense of delicacy. Really great youthful showing, plenty of composure and class.
Heavily perfumed - floral, dark cherry, blackcurrant, blueberry and redcurrant with tobacco as well. Lovely savoury texture to play along with the red and black fruit profile. Great length and superbly detailed layers.
