Introduction

The rosenblum distributor for the midwest came into my store and gave a tasting for the employees, so of course I was gonna take him up on that

  • 2006 Rosenblum Cellars Château La Paws Côte du Bone Blanc 88 Points

    USA, California

    nose: real nice creamy nose with vanilla, butter, and a bit of lemon. real nice nose

    taste: a bit of vanilla and lemon. Has nice acidity to it and a real good rounded mouth

    overall: this is a real nice solid wine. It brings some good flavors and is enjoyable

  • NV Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel Vintner's Cuvée XXIX 84 Points

    USA, California

    nose: real dark nose with blackberry, dark chocolate, and some mulberry

    taste: fairly big mouth for the price. very one dimensional with dark cherry

    overall: not bad. it's a decent wine. This is a zinfandel with training wheels

  • 2006 Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel Appellation Series Contra Costa County 87 Points

    nose: asian spice, earth, dark cherry, and dusty notes

    taste: a good amount of asian spice and dark cherry. Has tight tannins that are very chewy

    overall: big mouth with nice chewy tannins. Leaves a good solid finish

    nose: dark chocolate, cocoa, vanilla beans, and a slight hint of oak. real alluring nose that is fun to smell

    taste: big dark mouth. Blackberries, dark chocolate, and vanilla beans just burst in with flavor

    overall: really nice wine. Just everything about it is big and fun

  • 2005 Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel Harris Kratka Vineyard 89 Points

    nose: a bit tight. a dusty nose with some dark spice, dark cherry, and black plum

    taste: really big fruitful mouth with dark cherry and chocolate. Real big tannin structure on this

    overall: big bold wine that really gets in your face. Good stuff

  • 2005 Rosenblum Cellars Zinfandel Reserve Lyons 91 Points

    nose: big time nose. black cherry, dark plum, and asian spice just smack you in your face

    taste: big and beautiful mouth with dark cherry, dark plum, chocolate, and asian spice just coating your pallate. Sharp and big tannins on this one

    overall: this is a massive wine and is just awesome. Big and bold that would be great with all sorts of big foods. A real winner

    nose: real nice bold nose with a lot of mocha, dark chocolate, smoke notes, and bacon notes. real nice and bold nose

    taste: really smooth mouth with chocolate, dark cherry, and bacon coming through.

    overall: this is really good. Really big wine with a nice lasting finish. definitely one to look out for

  • 2005 Rosenblum Cellars Petite Sirah Rhodes Vineyard 92 Points

    nose: real big dark nose with a bit of anise, dark plum, some bell pepper, and dark cherry. really intoxicating on the nose

    taste: huge mouth and tannins. Lots of bell pepper, dark cherry, and licorice

    overall: an excellent wine. huge dark tannic mouth with a really big and long finish

Closing

really fun stuff. The rep busted out stuff that isn't as widely recognized as the maggie's or rockpile. Good way to learn more about the many rosenblum wines
