Introduction

I really am lucky to be married to an amazing woman. She planned and cooked a wonderful feast tonight that would make any rabbi proud. She may be a Shikse, but she is a wonderful Jewish wife.

Despite having quite a few bottles in the cellar, I don't have any Kosher wines. I decided that this wine would be the perfect match for brisket. It may not be Kosher, but it is a lovely wine.

  • 1999 Domaine du Pégau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée 92 Points

    France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape

    The nose showed horse, ripe cherries, and dried herbs. I also pick up a bit of a metallic edge. Did I mention that it was classic CdP? :) The palate shows a rustic quality that can only be from this region. I also find dried herbs, lively tannins (more than other bottles), and cherries. The finish is long and really earthy.
