Flight 1 (9 Notes)

  • 2006 Mollydooker Merlot The Scooter 87 Points

    Australia, South Australia

Clear red color. Lots of warm red fruit and tobaco on the nose, some mint and with air it opens up with licorise aromas. On the palate it has the same warm red fruit drive leading into to the midpalate with chocolate and tobaco. Some tannins at the end of the medium long taste. A bit too warm in the style lacking some back bone and elegance.

  • 2006 Mollydooker Cabernet Sauvignon The Maitre D’ 85 Points

    Australia, South Australia

Dark red color. Aromas of black currant, very warm fruit and some spicy alcohol. On the palate it wives intens, warm fruit, but a somewhat hollow midpalate leading to a hot finish. Some tannin but the heat covers everything else on the finish.

  • 2006 Mollydooker Two Left Feet 90 Points

    Australia, South Australia

Clear black red color. Nice nose giving licorise, chocolate and warm black and blue berries. Similar warm style on the palate with very concentrated fruit and some licorise and dark chocolate on the midpalate. Good length on the palate and a fair, well integrated tannin grip. This one is openning up gaining complexity and elegance with some air.

  • 2006 Mollydooker Shiraz The Boxer 91 Points

    Australia, South Australia

Tight black color. Warm dark fruit, sweet licorise and mint on the nose. Wild fruity sweetness on the palate, great length, going from sweet dark fruit to sweet black licorise before finally ending with sweet hot plums. The sweetness of this wine still manages to sway me and make this a delicious drink.

  • 2006 Mollydooker Shiraz Goosebumps 86 Points

    Australia, South Australia

The black color is hiding the bubbles in the glass. Warm dark fruit and licorise on the nose. On the palate the warm fruit is quick giving way to some chocolate and licorise. Short end. The bubbles are refreshing, small and rolls on the tongue for a while. However, the bubbles still seem misplaced in this wine, somehow hurting the overall impression more than supporting it.

  • 2006 Mollydooker Cabernet Sauvignon Gigglepot 91 Points

    Australia, South Australia

Completely black color. Intense black currant marmalade on the nose, and some refined notes of mint and vegetable edge. In the mouth it gives warm black currant fruit, some dark chocolate and licorise. An intense bitterness especially present on the finish. Good long taste with a harsh tannic finish.

  • 2006 Mollydooker Shiraz Blue Eyed Boy 92 Points

    Australia, South Australia

Black color. Warm blue and black berry nose, with some spicy alcohol and a hint of iodine. Warm black fruit on the palate leading into a nice midpalate with dark bitter chocolate, amazingly the finish finds the sweet fruit again ending with powerfull tannins that are perfectly integrated. Great balance.

  • 2006 Mollydooker Enchanted Path 94 Points

Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale

Black color. Delicious nose of creamy black currant, blue berries, black berries and licorise. On the palate it offers blueberries, licorise and chocolate. Refined midpalate, intense violent tannins, great balance. Has it all, and is at the same time extremely velvety and smooth on the palate. Super long taste. Very nice.

  • 2006 Mollydooker Shiraz Carnival of Love 94 Points

Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale

Black color. Refined elegant nose with blue berries and raisin, some spices, dark chocolate and i note of licorise. On the palate it has warm fruit, blue berries and plums. Starting out with a good fruit sweetness, leading into the midpalate with licorise, tobaco and chocolate. Great balance, long good length, and soft velvety feel. Not as creamy and smooth as the Enchanted Path, but packing a little more of everything else. This is great now, but it will probably be huge in the future.
