Blind. Initially quite oxidative wi5 some Pinot richness but also a bruised apple Chardonnay character. Settles down we’ll though to show a little fresher and with more energy albeit still in quite a rich style. Interesting. ****
Pale to mid straw. Lots of apricot kernel on the nose. A pithiness to the richness too. Lovely textural quality with plenty of chew. Good line and length. Consistent with previous bottles. ****

Blind. A lovely sweetness of fruit here allied with a lightness of style. Mid to pale ruby with a touch of garnet at the rim. Lovely Ponsotesque sweet-fruited etherealness here. Long and nuanced but light on its feet. Persistent too. Really lovely. ****
Blind. Nicely fragrant. Classic tar with a touch of florality across the top. Nose really deepens to show some dark caramel before lightening again. Initially quite right and linear on the palate, but again it opens to a more floral red fruitedness. Lots of interest here and a progression of senses. ****
Blind. Mid ruby to a touch of garnet. Resolved and smooth on the palate. Some mid density soft black currant and a touch of graphite. Gosh, feels more 85 than 96 to me. There’s a pleasant touch of green here too that gets more 78 (albeit with more padding) with air. Smooth and refreshing with a touch of capsicum cut. Lovely. ****
Blind. Dark, dense and quite tight. Almost a touch of Mourvèdre on the nose. Relaxes and opens to Syrah, and with more air a touch of feral Cornas typicity comes in to play, but gosh this is so much younger and dense than previous bottles of this from the same source. Years left on this showing. Cornas by the end of the glass. ****
Blind. Mid straw. Lovely nose — has Vin Jaune all over it, probably Ch Chalon. Lots of flor character, but also a smoothness and freshness and a nicely sweet-fruited sense on the mid palate, ate that comes and goes amongst the dryness. Impressive. ****
