Flight 1 (3 Notes)

  • 1984 Château Belgrave 83 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc

Dark purple. Nice bouquet with cassis, oak and some liquorice. Powerful with a lot of tannin and acidity. Firm wine and seems to be a good effort for 1984.

  • 1972 Château Cantemerle

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc

Carmine with a brown edge. Very strange acid bouquet. Hardly any tannin, but a lot of candy acidity. There is a little oak in the far distance. Very thin and acidic. This wine is far past its prime, but I wonder if it has been acceptable in the past.

  • 1964 Château Bourgneuf-Vayron 95 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol

Clear, very dark and almost black. There is a slightly brown rim. Beautiful and deep bouquet with dark berries, licorice and pleasant oak. On the palate the same impressions, spreads through the mouth, beautiful touch of sweetness and fresh acidity, sweet licorice, round tannin. Overall a truly great and beautiful harmonious wine; full bodied and ready, but also still powerful with still plenty of future in it. Truly delicious.
