Complex combination of ripe orchard fruit with maturing and earthy notes with lots of concentration and nuance. I tend to like Comtes on the fresher, younger side and this is reaching the end of that drinking window (for me).
Starts out very rich with ripe apple and pear aromas and flavors. Clearly Grand Cru density from the get go, but this transforms quickly into something more classically Chablis quickly, ending with bright, crunchy, minerally textures. I don't think there is any upside, but this might evolve into something even more complex if it retains enough bright acidity.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru
Floral with bright white fruit. Elegant and enticing with good length and medium weight. More fun than Remilly in the next glass, but not as cellarworthy. Best now through 2024.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru
Lots of orchard fruit throughout, slightly backward right now. Good density, just not fully forthcoming right now. Not as exciting today as 2014 Murgers des Dents de Chien in the next glass, but this will be a better wine in a few years.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Open an hour before serving. Fully mature black and red cherry on nose and palate with meaty spice, plenty of earth and slowly cooked mushrooms. Lots of complexity here, but a little more depth would help. But I guess that is why the young vines are not included in the Vogüé Musigny.
Very mature black plum with tobacco and rich spice. More mature than the very best bottles I have tasted in the past decade, but this has been a very inconsistent wine. Very enjoyable.

1982 Château Montrose 90 Points

Certainly good, complex and powerful, but the brett notes were more pronounced than better bottles I have tasted in the past.

I am surprised by this wine's brightness lively freshness at 15 yo. Spicy black fruit with good density. So tasty.
