  • NV Herdade do Rocim Vidigueira Brut Rosé

    Portugal, Alentejano, Alentejo, Vidigueira

    Supposedly 100% Tempranilo with no added dosage

    N: Toasty/yeasty with undertones of red frts + something I can't quite ID: kiwi?

    P: MF body; NICE frt exquisitely balanced by acidity; Long, very slightly faint finish. Definite dry, this could accompany lighter fare.

    Supposedly a blend of Loureiro, Trajadura, & Arinto

    N: Fragrant flowers, almost Riesling like? Seemed to need > air than I had the time to give it; Intensity lurking?

    P: LM body; Rndish, yet very slightly spritzy entry; Approaching threshold R.S.? Lingers, albeit faintly; Interesting for drinking now & during the rest of '17.

    Supposedly a blend of 40% Touriga Nacional, 30% Aragonez, 20% Alicante Bouschet, & 10% Trincadeira;

    N: CLOSED; Some earth, poss toast?

    P: Med, poss MF, body; NICE, ripe frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) with balancing acidity; The LONG finish is initialy almost swtish, then shows a very slightly spicy tanginess. 16/20 Jancis Robinson (Harding, 3/28/16).     “100% Albariño from their Monte Alto plot; Fermentation took place at controlled temps in s/s vats. Racking was carried out after fermentation, and then the wine was aged for a further 12 mos in s/s vats, during which the fine lees were stirred regularly using the bâtonnage method.” 26 cases imported.
