Wow, the nose is honeycomb and beeswax, while the palate is incredibly bright and acidic. This was nice to drink today, but I won't open a bottle for 2+ years.
Very nice acidity on the palate along with some light strawberry and vanilla. There is a touch of American oak. Blue fruit and leather comes out with time. My favorite wine of the tasting.
Ripe red fruit and vanilla on the nose. The palate is dark, dense and rich, just a touch jammy with red to black berries. The oak is evident, with very slight anise. Surprisingly, this drank young, and big.
There was a slight caramelization on the palate which also made it a touch sweet. This wine also seemed rather big, and I'll likely hold my last bottle 5 years.
What can I say except it tastes like a nice Pedro Ximenez. Very sweet, very dense, not really cloying just really sweet. Sweet raisins and blackberry liqueur, with a bit maple syrup mixed in. I find it somewhat comical that the cellartracker icon for this wine is white. On the contrary, this wine was darker than all the reds at the tasting.
