France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Clear golden color. Buttery floral and nut aromas. Mouthfilling roasted oak, starting out buttery, but ending pretty tight. Good yellow fruit and a hint of white pepper on the finish. Nice lenght.
Red center with a purple hue. Delicious nose with blueberries, cherry and some plum and herbs. On the palate it has a delicious cherry fruit, with herbs on the midpalate and drying out on the finish. Mouth watering tannins, but needs time.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Dark red center with a brick red hue. Compost heap, farmyard, licorise, dark chocolate and a hint of iodine on the nose. Earthy red fruit first but unclear in its expression. Roasted oak on the midpalate and especially the finish is harsh tobaco and pepper. Good lenght and balance, but lacking elegance and finesse. Some air moved it in the right direction, so there is a good chance this will improve.
Dark red color with a brick red rim. Bicycle hose, and some black currant on the nose. On the palate it has a cool black currant fruit. Gaining some herbaceous and rubber notes, and some tobaco on the finish. Medium length. I didn't like the South African rubber notes, but otherwise delicious.
