[Tasted Double Blind] Pours light ruby in the glass. The nose isn't terribly expressive or complex focused on cranberry, raspberry, light herbaceous elements, and a vague whiff of rubbery reduction. No discernable oak really stands out here and this strikes me as a Pinot Noir that has been destemmed. The palate is medium acid, medium tannin, and quite a strong cranberry impression. The finish doesn’t linger all that long. Clearly cool climate. Strikes me as a young burgundy. I guessed a structured and lightly reduced 2017 burgundy. On the plus side the hot 2015 vintage didn't really read it's ugly head here. On reveal it was good to see this was consistent with my past impression of this wine. Very ordinary Red Burgundy.

The nose is quite expressive showing cherry, clove, a vague green leaf character, wet moss, a touch of lemon peel, and even a little pomegranite. Just a beautiful red burgundy profile, showcasing judicious use of stems and oak. The palate has medium minus dusty tannin with medium acid. Quite an enjoyable wine. This wine was my contribution, and on first pass I wondered if this was from a cooler vintage in burgundy like 2011 or 2013, or perhaps even a very well made example from Ontario given the green leaf character. On second pass it was clear this was from burgundy and was my wine. Great showing. Easy 92 points, almost 93. Happy to have four more in the cellar and even happier I've reloaded on the 2019.

[Tasted Double Blind] This pours medium ruby. The nose is initially a tad mute but what’s there is is very pretty showing dark cherry, pomegranate, and perhaps a touch of oak derived cinnamon. The palate is lush on entry, with medium tannin, medium acid, and an enjoyable finish of dark cherry, accented with some oak and cinnamon. On the finish this is just a touch hot with elevated alcohol (13.5% on the listing). There could be a little whole cluster use here and there is certainly a little oak. I thought this was burgundy and possibly 2015 or 2018 because it's a lit of a bruiser. Nice wine with the potential to improve a couple of points I'd say. I would be okay to pay the $49 CAD this sell for but would be happier at a lower price.

The palate is a little tough showing some green tinged acid, medium minus tannin, and finishes a little bitter. I was quite disappointed on reveal, as I've enjoyed this wine a little more in the past, but never been blown away by it to be honest. I have some in the cellar so hoping it turns the corner in the years ahead.

[Tasted Double Blind] This pours light garnet in the glass. Clearly an aged character to this wine that only got better with the two or so hours it was open. The nose is wildly complex and beautiful showing dried cherry, dried mushrooms, steak tartare, dried ginger, and dried orange peel. The palate is awesome with low dusty tannin and medium acid that is nicely tinged with dried orange peel providing a lengthy and appealing finish. I was really quite enamoured with this wine in the end and was almost a 94 pts. My guess was 2001 or 2000 burgundy. So I had the age right, but I didn't' really detect the warmer vintage. Perhaps the lack of any greeness should have tipped me off.

The nose is just a little too oak derived for my tastes showing vanilla, toasted hazelnut, a hint of sassafras, and dark and light cherry. The palate has medium tannin and medium acid with some mixed spices on the finish (seemingly oak derived). I wish there was little more going on here than red fruit and oak, but who knows, maybe some more complexity is to come with some bottle age. Just prior to reveal I threw out 2017 Marsannay and I had in mind this exact Audoin Marsannay as I had it earlier this year. Glad to see I called it and have a consistent score. Again I bought this wine on the strong WK review and was a little disappointed.
