Dinner at Andy's (Spanish wines)

We sampled a mini verticle and one other Spanish wine with a meal that included Prime Rib, Green beans with proccuttio, red and fingerling potatos with panchetta and crem frace, sweet corn on the cob and, ceasar salad.

  A most excellent wine. Hints of dark fruit on the nose with a bit of pepper and ripe fruit on the palate.

  Tasted right after the 1998 version. Nose of dark cherries and cloves with a hint of dark fruit and earth on the palate. Great finish and excellent mouthfeel. It was the star of the mini vertical

  Thus may need to be retasted again. It followed the 1998 and 1999 Riservas which were phenominal. Hints of cedar and spice ont he nose with mineral and fruit on the palate. Short finish and may need some more bottle time. It was not decanted.

+None fo the wines were decanted, but the 2000 Pecina may have benifited from doing so. The clear favorite was the 1999 Pecina
