France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Barrel tasting. Step up in brightness and energy with good richness throughout, most notably on the finish which also comes across as finessed already. Very good 90-92 point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Barrel tasting. I was not expecting to like this wine so much, given it is the first vintage since replanting. And while the weight is not up to previous vintage standards, this wine shows such wonderful charm, elegance and spice in multi-faceted ways. 91-92+ point potential, 2025 forward.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Barrel tasting. Reduced aromatic start, so the nose didn't fully show its potential, but palate shows so much richness and intensity. Once gain, young vines don't detract from this wine's excellent density and its impressive 92-94 point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Barrel tasting. 60% whole cluster this year. Bright black fruit with good weight, slightly tannic for now, but nicely spiced in the middle. 89-90+ point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet
Floral with apple and pear, supported with subtle spice. Very bright middle forward with very good weight for its level. So charming already. I liked this much more today vs when tasted from tank in Nov 2021.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
This comes across as richer and nearly unctuous so slightly less classic. I like the richness, but less thrilling vs most in the lineup, good still, 89-90 point potential.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Apple, quince, and pear, slightly ripe, yet also very taut and lithe. Nearly balanced right now, this is long and precise with so much energy, exactly the style of wine that thrills me. 2025-.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru
Starts out lean and bright, stays lean and bright in the middle, the layers emerge and it fattens, widens, expands into a long, extracted finish. A truly brilliant young Chevalier-Montrachet, at least 96 points, likely even better as it fully harmonizes.
2021 Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils Chardonnay Bourgogne Blanc
France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc
From barrel. Lean and bright apple with good enough weight. This will be very good for its level, 86-87 point potential.

2021 Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet
Barrel tasting. SO2 added last week so tough to assess given faint reduction and bitterness. But there is clearly plenty of ripe enough fruit.
