Mid-garnet with a narrow orange rim. Fairly expressive lifted nose of soft red cherry, smoke and red fruits. A dry entry with firm sinewy tannins, medium alcohol, ripe, lively acid and a fairly long finish. Some soy and meat notes add gentle complexity to an open-knit yet delicate wine. Not as youthful as expected.
A more restrained nose closed at first and then upon shaking some red cherries, tar, tobacco, forest fruits, and pressed wildflowers. A sweet cherry entry, like tinned cherry but balanced by brisk acidity and chalky tannins. Medium to full-bodied wine, plenty of fruit and zing, and a medium to long finish. Fairly elegant.
Light ruby with wide orange rim. More tertiary notes show undergrowth, mushroom, marmite and soy. There is a slight mineral, warm mineral quality to it. Dry entry with bitter cherry stones and chalky tannins but lacks a mid-palate. Not that much fruit, it seems rather shut down. Tannins build toward the finish.
Deep garnet in colour. Intense nose of black cherries, truffle, stewed fruits and smoke with some forest floor. A rich texture, full-bodied, quite dense with a warm generous feel. However, the mid-palate pulls up as firm, chalky austere tannins and charry stave oak give a bitter cherry finish. Challenging
Fairly intense bouquet of soy, mushroom and remnants of dried black fruit. Lively, fresh acidity and firm, sandpaper tannins with a slight bitter note rising in the finish. Fairly evolved and lacks much presence.
Mid garnet to a narrow orange rim. Attractive bouquet of bright, clean fruit - quite New World and modern. Some orange segments, caramel and sweet spices mix with macaroon. A soft, round entry with lovely width to the fruit, juicy with gentle spices and a very long finish. Tannins are glossy and pliant yet the wine lacks a touch of depth. Very drinkable!
Attractive bouquet of wafer biscuit, red cherry, macaroons, fresh oak (sauna wood), cigar box and soy. A thick texture with lively fresh acidity, good depth of flavour and well balanced. Flavours of marmite, sour cherry, vegetal and tilled earth add complexity and the oak gives a wood smoke element. Good length, delightful.
Mid to deep garnet showing some evolved aromas. A little Volatile acidity gives a smudged note. Raw meat, soy, dried herbs. Medium bodied the wine opens very soft and rich, dry with fine-grained sandpaper tannins and a marmite savoury twist. Lacks complexity and quite hot on the finish.
Attractive bouquet of cerise, raw red meat, leather and red plum. Fairly rich entry with soft pliant tannins, good depth of flavour and fruit purity. Quite light-bodied there is an energetic acidity that keeps the wine fresh and forward facing although it lacks some width in the mid-palate, feeling a little sinewy. It grew on me!
