A blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Blanc, base vintage 2019 (80%), with 20% réserve perpetuelle (2010-2018), disgorged May 2022. Soft, juicy, spicy, hint of flowers, relaxed, good persistence. Seems more harmonious than the January 2022 disgorgement.
I love this producer's still wines, but this crémant is a let-down. Earthy nose, uncomplicated and unformed palate lacks fruit and definition, finish falls a bit flat.
No. 0594. Young but already harmonious, kurkuma and flowers on the nose, noticeable but perfectly judged oak, minerally and precise but generous palate, tart citrus, intense but light on its feet, good definition, ripe but steely structure with nice grip from the bitters, complete finish with good persistence. Top notch, good future.
Filed blend of Savagnin, Trousseau, Chardonnay and Poulsard from a small plot in Pupillin. Third vintage. All varieties co-fermented, 100% destemmed by hand, 2 months maceration in stainless steel, spontaneous fermentation, aged in older wood and bottled just before the next harvest, unfined, unfiltered, unsulfured, 12.75% ABV. Pale strawberry red colour; hints of reduction and carbon dioxide on the nose, crushed red berries, undergrowth; bright and fresh palate, white wine flavours, finely grippy tannins, hint of carbon dioxide; dry and taut finish.
From a 1.6 hectare plot, 100% Carignan dating back until 1910, whole bunch fermentation, fermented and aged for 16 months in concrete. Red plums and schist on the nose, earth and dried rosemary, and a hint of reduction; the soft and spicy attack is followed by a fresh and energetic mid palate, mild tannins provide appropriate grip, balanced and elegant, concentrated but pure and transparent style, sweet flavours of liquorous black cherries, earth and roses and peaches; hints of stalks and green apple on the finish, excellent resonance and length. A wine of considerable complexity and finesse. Even better on the second day.
