AP organised a trip to test out a new venue. Hugely enjoyable evening in an airy room that was buzzy but not loud, and the food was wine friendly and well executed.
2006 Agrapart Champagne Grand Cru Minéral Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut
France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru

From the back label 5g dosage. Gorgeous nose. At the polite end of grower if that makes sense - lean, precise, lovely acidity - just a hint of apply-ness, one could drink this for a long time. With food and air filled out. Nice stuff.

2008 Jacquesson & Fils Champagne Grand Cru Avize Champ Cain
France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru

2.5g dosage according to back label. A bit more funky, a bit of bruised apple, somewhat oxidative. Started off super zingy and exciting, went through a bit of a bla period and then pulled itself back together. A small pour left until the end of the meal was really lovely - I do wonder whether this style of wine would benefit from decanting?
