Flight 1 (3 Notes)

  • 1995 Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ-Canet 85 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru

Could be that this just wasnt a great bottle but I wouldnt hold much longer. No premox but heading that way I think? Also seemed a bit out of balance w/ acidity sticking out and a lack of any fruit. Bottle opened a few weeks ago showed much better but still not a great wine, that said others preferred more than me.

  • 1985 Château Léoville Las Cases 93 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Saint-Julien

Drinking really well at the moment. Nice garnet color, hardly any bricking. Tannins fully resolved, ceder and tobacco on the nose, still some red fruits on the palate. Not a massive wine but very elegant.

  • 1988 Clusel-Roch Côte-Rôtie 94 Points

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie

From a really well stored case. deep red color, hardly any bricking. Great nose of bacon, beef blood etc. Finish on a previous bottle was a little short and didnt quite match the nose but this one was full and rich. Stood up to a very good bottle of 85 LLC
