Tons of creamy oak (too much), rich, extracted valley floor style.

Intensely focused mountain fruit, medium weight, remarkable balance.

Has some heft to it, almost a stickiness to the herbal-edged fruit.

Angular, straightforward, showing lots of new wood.

80% merlot, 20% cab franc. Very inky with an astringent finish.

Very young and not much to it at this stage. Comes off as well made but in a lean, angular style.

Weedy/herbal character, some new oak. Quite likeable. 90+

Extremely tannic, the leather, rawhide, and rosewater hallmarks coming through. Drink in 2030.

Simple, with lemon-butter creamed corn sort of profile.

Stemmy, ripe, crunchy fruit with herbal edges, lacking a bit of focus and concentration.

Young, stemmy and dusty flavors underpinning the red cranberry-cherry fruit. Would be pleased to lay this one down for a while. 91+

A Cinsault vintage. Bright red fruits, fresh, open aromatics, chalky notes to the fruit. Really interesting.

Young, midweight, lots of acidity, graphite mineral, chemical silver polish, leafy tobacco. Probably needs 10 years.

Linear build, chunky fruit, great mouthfeel, doesn’t quite hit that next gear on the finish given its youth.

Tart acidity, medium body, cherry and plum skin. A pretty nice and astonishing expensive Rosso.

A serious wine with tons of extract, graphite mineral, all that Pauillac Cabernet character right on target.

100% merlot, 7-acre vineyard. Really good and textured, just needs a little time.

Stemmy, crisp, applewood, Burgundian style, good concentration and mouthfeel, wish it had a bit more power.

Big oaky monster, toasted wood, barrel-marked black currant profile.

Very well made though it doesn’t hit you over the head. There’s a rustic, authentic flair to the fruit, like chewing on the whole clusters, and then the mouthfeel delivers the finesse.

Inky left bank blend, lots of wood. I feel like this style was popular in the late 90s but now it’s just not sophisticated enough.

Young but very expressive already. Black fruit, tea, wet stone, fine-grained tannins, tons of fruit power to uncoil.

Stemmy, weedy edges to cranberry fruit. Like a cooler-climate Sonoma Pinot Noir.

Lots of mineral, acidity, and tannic backbone bordering on austere, yet the Nerello Mascalese fruit comes through. Needs a couple years but it’s already classy.
