  • 2021 Wildman Wine Piggy Pop Pét-Nat

Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale

Cloudy and the colour of a pink rose. Wonderfully clean. The vinous equivalent of a sophisticated long cocktail. Would be fabulous as a lunchtime drink in the sunshine.
    Expensive for the experience though.

    Australia, Victoria, Gippsland

Somewhere between a pinot grigio from Veneto and an Alsatian Pinot Gris in palate weight and acidity. Chewy texture. Lemon zest on the nose. Interesting but not complex.

  • 2021 Ochota Barrels Pinot Meunier The Mark of Cain

Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Adelaide Hills

Really interesting. I think this may be the only 100% Meunier still wine that I have tried. 100% Destemmed whole bunch ferment.
Raspberry on the nose with a subtle hint of yogurt. Pleasant, but nothing special.

  • 2021 Mayer Cabernet

Australia, Victoria, Port Phillip, Yarra Valley

100% Whole bunch fermented Cabernet! Unoaked, spent 1 year on the lees.
The purest expression of fruit possible. So intense! Like diving into a blackcurrant bush, but far more pleasant. No greenness at all despite being whole bunch. Remarkable. Not complex, but very pure.

  • 2018 An Approach to Relaxation Grenache Sucette

Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley

Made from fruit grown on vines that are around 150 years old grown in sandy soil on their own rootstock. 20% Whole bunch fermentation. Aged in old barrels. This is the owners homage to Château Rayas.

Like being transported to a persian market. Wonderfully perfumed. Strawberries and spices. A hint of herbs, cinnamon and sandalwood incense. Exotic and completely beguiling. One of the most interesting examples of grenache that I have ever tried.
