Introduction

I did not taste blind, but the others did

Flight 1 (2 Notes)

  • 2004 Feudi di San Gregorio Irpinia Rubrato 90 Points

    Italy, Campania, Irpinia

Decanted for an hour. Appearance: dark inky red with a brownish edge (5/5). Nose: again very rich, rasberry jam, but somehow refined, not overpowering, some greeness in the background (12/15). Palate: some tannins, some oak present, but mainly refined red fruits, a bit bitter (15/20). Overall: once again the wine impressed me, especially the aroma, excellent stuff! (8/10)

  • 2004 Château Villerambert-Moureau Minervois Cuvée des Marbreries Hautes Flawed

    France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Minervois

The cork had leaked a bit, but we tasted it anyway, as it wasn't obviously oxidized. Very strange perfumy smell to it, and the taste was very cinnamony and peppery! It was drinkable, some even liked it, but certainly not a normal bottle of Villerambert-Moureau. Not scored.
