Beautiful but also young , needs definitely more time . Still thought at this young age shows glimpses of beauty, firm , proper acidity, light flint and mineral. Needs more time and definitely some decanting at this stage. Andreas 90 / Nicol 92 > 91
Unfortunately our bottle was corked but that been said the what was behind was actually very pretty, not dry on the fruit and should this have been a proper untainted bottle we are sure it would have been a 93-95 range of wine. Shame for our experience but very promising to the lucky ones that still have some. Pointless to rate
Side by side with the 2013 Felsen I ( Papies 89) both served blind. A much better wine than the Blaufränkisch for sure albeit a bit of a marmite wine as its not the most exuberant and even more maybe in its youth it was a lot more and now just lost that energy. That been said still a good, all rounder, soft spice and rich fruit. Almost felt like it was in an in between stage, not young and bright not yet aged and secondary. Interesting wine. Side by side with the 2012 Felsen II ( Papies 90) and a bit of a marmite wine. Soft juicy fruit, difficult to pinpoint ( Especially as we served this blind) , good round and polished but lacking an exciting side. Not sure if when younger this was more exuberant but at this stage is a but muted and a lacking an exciting side. Good 89
