Classic Chablis brightness, energy, and minerality with lemon throughout, also nicely floral. Good length, good now for its level, but I would have preferred greater density for Grand Cru.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Bright and well balanced with good depth and interesting layers. Much better than my previous bottle one year ago. Served alongside Boillot 2013 Genevrières, the group was split on which they preferred, with my vote going to the Meursault.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Rich and dense with wonderful balance and a long, elegant finish. I would have liked slightly more concentration, but very good overall. Served alongside Boillot 2013 Mouchère, the group was split on which they preferred, with my vote going to this Meursault.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
Served alongside the 2010, this bottle had been opened/ decanted hours earlier. Wine is clearly losing steam and came across as tired and barely interesting.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
Open 30 minutes before serving. Served alongside the (tired) 2005, this showed meaty black fruit with perfect balance, but just barely the concentration I'd want from Grand Cru in a wonderful vintage. Started losing brightness after open 3 hours. This also kicked off the subsequent 2010 Mazis flight.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
In 201o Mazis flight. Rich and nearly fleshy, while layered and intriguing. One taster thought a bit volatile, but most of us found that immaterial, but this also less brightness after open two hours.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
in 2010 Mazis flight. Only opened an hour before serving, this needed time and gradually opened up. Started out rich and powerful but a little clunky, that awkwardness faded and more bold black fruits emerged. Upside form here.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Classically Gevrey black-fruited and meaty character, the headline is the wonderful balance, with good enough weight, length, and structure. Drinking well now with further upside.
2014 Maison Albert Bichot Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos Domaine Long-Depaquit 91 Points
France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
Classic Chablis brightness, energy, and minerality with lemon throughout, also nicely floral. Good length, good now for its level, but I would have preferred greater density for Grand Cru.

Ridiculous that this was quite oxidized.

2003 Domaine Joseph Roty Mazy-Chambertin 86 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
Powerful, ripe, and dense but the new oak has not seemed to fully integrate, giving this an awkward feel at times.

2008 Domaine Ponsot Griotte-Chambertin Flawed
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru
Opened a few hours before serving. Disappointing bottle, this seemed much older than 2008 with an overall dirty character.
