Introduction
Every participant had to bring a wine of the theme. We did not know which wines were brought by the others. All wines were tasted blind, also without knowing when the wine you brought yourself was poured.
2023 Calmel & Joseph Viognier Villa Blanche 88 Points

Aromatic bouquet, full bodied, tropical fruits, apricots, perfumed, ok acidity. Straight forward, clean and honest wine.

Clean bouquet with tropical fruits and flowers. On the palate the same impressions, some anise and menthol, mouth filling and beautiful acidity.

Refined bouquet with apricots, flowers and some fennel. On the palate sweet licorice, anise, apricots, peach, a touch of sweetness, beautiful acidity. Round, full bodied and aromatic. Beautiful and harmonious wine.

The bouquet is a bit reticent, but floral and with yellow fruits like apricots. On the palate full bodied, apricots/marmalade, beautiful acidity and a touch of sweetness and bitterness.

In the bouquet white fruits, blossom and flowers. On the palate full bodied and a bit fat, peach, apricot, figs, ripe pineapple, beautifully fresh acidity and a good length. Beautiful and complex wine.

The bouquet is still reticent. On the palate white fruits like pears, white peach, beautifully fresh acidity and some herbs and minerals. Really dry. A bit a-typical. Is the wine in an off drinking stage? Could be. 90 - 91+?

Honey and apricots and beautiful oak and cedar in the bouquet. On the palate the same impressions, marzipan, ginger, a bit savory, complex and enormously concentrated. Beautifully fresh acidity. We had the 2018, 2019 and 2020 beside each other and this 2019 was the most impressive.
