All three classical varieties in equal proportion, terroir de Treslon, disgorged September 2023, dosage 5 gr/l. Strikes a lovely balance between tension and generosity, freshness and ripeness, citrus, earth and nuttiness, mild reduction, good intensity and length.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Not decanted, enjoyed over two hours. Very stony nose, mildly reductive, ripe but fresh orchard fruit with a delicate tropical edge, lemon curd, impressive concentration and depth; elegant attack, ripe but firm acidity, lovely tension and energy in the riper context of the vintage, wonderfully fleshy back palate (14% ABV), expansive finish with a light yeasty touch, very good but not great length. Impressive, in a good place already, good future.
France, Languedoc Roussillon, Roussillon, Côtes Catalanes
Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris, Maccabeu. Lovely touch of matchstick on the nose, gentle and soft, fresh and supple, orange and tart lemon, gentle bitters, floral fragrance, good length.
From the Côte Chalonnaise, 100% destemmed, wild yeasts, 12 months in oak, 14% ABV. Black and blue fruit, ripe but fresh, pure and intense, energetic minerality, tightly wound for a 2019, chalky finish with very good length.
No. 0514, 17% ABV, 50cl bottle. Apple cider, calvados, gently sweet, hint of raisins, lovely kick without excessive heat, cherry stones, hint of honey, very good intensity and length. Perfect with assorted cheeses.
