Nose with charred oak barrels, mint, and cool citrus. On the palate, the wine has cool citrus, minty chewing gum, and toothpaste. There is also some parquet and pine needles. A very classic and typical white central burgundy.

The wine is dark yellow and looks unfiltered. The nose surprises and must be said to be seductive with coffee grounds, tea leaves, and something oxidative. On the palate, there is ripe citrus and the wine still has a somewhat oily oak taste. A simple wine that has withstood the test of time surprisingly well.

The wine is light straw yellow, and smells of sweet fruit, dry paper, and light notes of hung meat. The wine is perceived to have fortified tones, which I have previously also experienced in white wines from the Northern Rhone. Left the wine for a long time in the glass and with time it develops more floral notes. On the palate, the wine is acidic and has an oily mouthfeel. The wine has a bitter fruit profile.

The wine is light watery clear. On the nose, the wine has slender citrus, some ripe fruits, wax, melted plastic, and hints of licorice. On the palate, it has light citrus. Lemon water. The wine is fresh and has something tropical and mineral. The wine is fresh and lively. Blindly I thought this wine was from Chablis. I was surprised when I found out that it was a Spanish white wine made from a grape otherwise best known from Cava.

The wine is dark red. Nose with metallic blackcurrants, tobacco, coffee, and equestrian sports. In the mouth, it tastes of stable, lead, dark dense fruit, as well as something minty. The fruit is concentrated and somewhat angular, which makes me blindly think we are in Pauillac. We weren't!

Blood red with some browning towards the edge. The wine looks ripe. The nose has earthy tones, cool red fruit, and something volatile that blows away. On the palate, the wine has everything I associate with a good red Burgundy. Seductively cool and precise firm red summer berries. Pepper and other types of spices.

Nose with blackcurrant, dark fruit, and hints of coffee. On the palate, the wine is light-bodied, with little fruit and hints of coffee. I suspect a suboptimal bottle.

The wine is dark red with browning towards the edge. The nose has fresh and lively red fruit, some earth, dairy, 5 spice, coffee, and cured meat. On the palate, the wine is dense and with an insane concentration characterized by an abundance of red fruit and spices. Delicious length and balance in the wine. The taste lingers.

Last and 16th wine of the evening. The notes are mostly in monosyllables. Nose with fur, forest, and game. In the mouth, the wine is still dry and rich in tannins. Steel, blood, delicious redberry fruit, and heather.

NV Egly-Ouriet Champagne Grand Cru Tradition Brut 90 Points

The wine has a light copper color—a fine and fruity nose with a hint of almond. The wine has a high and pronounced acidity on the palate with a distinct flavor of green apple. The wine is also experienced as mineral with salt as a clear marker. The wine has a slim finish and is of medium length.

NV Billecart-Salmon Champagne Extra Brut Meunier Rendez-Vous No.3 92 Points
France, Champagne
The base is 2013, and the wine is straw yellow. The nose is complex with malo, wax, and light notes of honey. With a bit of air comes burnt matches, melted plastic, and a tiny bit of liquorice. On the palate, the wine is experienced as somewhat sluggish. Oxidative notes, gunpowder, mineral salt, and something rocky. Not much fruit except for some lemon at the very end. The wine appears slim and acidic with a medium length.

The wine is lively yellow in the glass. Round and creamy scent, with dairy products such as cream and cold butter. On the palate, the wine is fresh and fruity with red sweet berry fruit and what are perceived to be distinct pinot tones. Some candy and an exit with sweet oranges or clementine.

NV Michel Fallon Champagne Grand Cru Ozanne Blanc de Blancs 100 Points
France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
For the first time in my life, I end up at 100 points. The wine is dark straw yellow and has a very complex and appealing nose with a marked floral expression. Furthermore, there are notes of honey, dried meat, freshly cut grass, and eventually salted caramel. The wine feels complex and develops as long as I have it in the glass. At first contact in the mouth, the wine is very concentrated. Malt extract, green apple, and the delicious little bubbles give me an association with soda powder. On top of this, the wine has perfect balance and a lasting finish.

2014 Vilmart & Cie Champagne Premier Cru Rosé Emotion 96 Points
France, Champagne, Champagne Premier Cru
This wine is a mindfuck. Had I not seen that it was a rosé, I would have thought that this was a white champagne. The nose has (uh) ripe cheese and some sweet situs. On the palate, the wine is wonderful with almonds, coarse marzipan as well as clementines, and sweet lemons. I also find some red berry fruit. The wine has a delicious acidity, good length, and mousse that makes it feel fresh and lively.
